How to arrive
The municipality of Berja can be found within the Lower Alpujarras of Almería in the Southwest of the Province of Almería in Eastern Andalucía in the south of the Spanish Mainland.
It boarders to the West with the district of Turón (Granada Province); to the North with the areas of Alcolea, Laujar de Andarax and Fondón; to the South with the district of Adra and the Mediterranean Sea and to the East with Dalías and El Ejido, all also forming part of the Almería Province.
Main access to the area is from the South following the local roads Al-103 (Alquería - Rio Grande) and the Al-616 (Virgin del Carmen - Rio Chico), via the main Adra – Berja road and from the East via the main El Ejido – Berja road. All these local roads connect directly to the main motorway (Autovia del Mediterraneo) that passes through the extreme South of the Province. The main Alcolea – Laujar de Andarax road runs from the North and from the West you can access the area from the Granada Province following the main road from Turón crossing the Benínar Dam.
Berja is located approximately 50km from the capital city Almería, 18km from El Ejido and 17km from Adra. It is also just 64km from the international airport found just outside the capital city.
