Small River
Gullies and streams descending from the slopes of the Sierra de Gádor spread out through the Berja Plain irrigating and fertilizing it as they pass. They join later to form one river – the Río Chico, enclosed in a fertile valley. The flow is variable and can dry out in summer, but always remaining is the striking riverside vegetation.
Further down the valley are numerous small ‘cortijos’, originally used as agricultural buildings, but now renovated and converted into second homes.
This valley can be found by heading out of the town centre in the direction of San Roque.
