 | Situated only 20 minutes from the capital is the only inland natural maritime park in Andalusia, that of Cabo de Gata-Nijar, which includes one of the most attractive streches of coast on the Mediterranean.
The variety of landscapes for the visitor to enjoy include salt flats, dunes the large mining area of Rodalquilar, the beaches, or the fishing villages like Isleta del Moro. There are more than 1,000 unusual plants in the natural reserve, which truly makes it a paradise for botanists and ecologists. Amongst the animal species is the majestic pink flamingo, as well as the avocet and the Audouin's gull.
