This weekend the municipality of Mojácar is preparing to experience a show full of colour, tradition and emotion with the celebration of its iconic Moors and Christians Festival.
Amidst the general enthusiasm in the municipality, the Moors and Christians Association Al-Mosaquer has taken the opportunity to officially launch the fourth edition of the International Photography Competition 2024, with the aim of giving exposure to photographic talents and promoting the culture and traditions of this festivity.
The festivities, which attract thousands of visitors each year, will run from 14th to 16th June, offering a vibrant show of parades, music and historical re-enactments celebrating Mojácar's rich cultural heritage. This event is a unique opportunity for photographers from all over the world to capture the essence of this celebration and participate in the photographic competition.
The 4th Moors and Christians Mojácar 2024 International Photography Competition is open to participants of all ages and nationalities. Entries and photo submissions will take place from 17 June to 13 September 2024. Images must focus on this year's festivities and meet high standards of quality and originality.
Participants can choose to enter their photographs from the six categories that are open to them:

Moors: Focusing on the Moors

Christians: Focusing on the Christians

Youth: For photographers aged 14 to 18.

Black and White: Black and white photographs.

Open Theme: Any aspect of the festivities.

Processions / Troops: Moorish or Christian groups in the parade. Awards and the announcement of winners.
The best photographs will be exhibited both in printed format in various cultural centres, and in virtual format on the digital platforms of the Association of Moors and Christians Al-Mosaquer. In addition, participants will be able to consult the complete rules of the competition through these platforms.
